It is a beautiful morning here in Phoenix Arizona. I was wondering this morning, what are you doing to make your life better? I see family and friends periodically complaining on how their lives are. What they want to do. Who they want to be. Then after their complaining, whining, sighs, they do nothing and just go on with their lives.
Kind of sad when I notice this. I want to help them but no matter how much I say or do, it will never change who they are. They must want the change. One thing they should do is establish goals.
“One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it.” ~Sidney Howard
“If you don’t know where you are going, You will probably end up somewhere else” ~Lawrence J. Peter
“It is a most mortifying reflection for a man to consider what he has done, compared to what he might have done” ~ Samuel Johnson, (Life of johnson 1770)
“Some of the worlds greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible” ~ Doug Larson
Written goals should be made for everyone in my opinion. Whether it be losing weight, getting a better job or even starting your first business. Whatever it is write it down. Now that you see it on paper, it might be more real. After you write them down prioritize them highest to lowest. Start dreaming about what you want in your life. There has to be that little motivation factor in your little goal to make that goal worth reaching. Write down that goal, the reason for reaching that goal and finally……… the plan. This is where everyone gives up most of the time. You need to setup a plan. Losing weight means you need to give up things. Sweets, TV, bread, soda and add new things in your life to change. More water, Jogging lifting weights, aerobics. Sacrifice is hard but you need to look at yourself in your mirror and see what you want and you need to admit that you need to sacrifice some things tomake better things come into your life.
Being positive, optimistic is vital as well. If you don’t think you can reach that dream and make it a reality well, what are the odds of reaching it with an attitude like that? The human brain can help us or harm us by just thought. So always look for the bright side of each situation. One step in the right direction is better than three steps back or standing still for that matter. So, let’s go through the steps.
1. Dream. You need to see what you want to be
2. Write it down. Write down your goals and why you want them.
3. Plan. Learn what you need to do. Learn to give up things for that goal. Chop it down into easy to reach steps.
4. Be Positive. The power of thought is either motivating or depressing. What are you thinking?
Learn about yourself. Set your life in motion. Quit complaining and making excuses. You are only hurting yourself. Look in your mirror. Ask yourself “What do you want?” Answer that then go get it!!!!!!
