Excuses. . . . . . .
Hello guys, Had a nice scare of an almost loss in my family. Kind of reminds me of all the stuff I did to excuse myself from things. You look back with a bit of regret. How about yourself? When it comes to money, what have you regretted doing? Is it getting a car that was way out of your league? Is it a business plan you were too scared to take off the ground and found out someone else did...

Fear.
“A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.” ~ Mahatma Ghandi “An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching” ~ Mahatma Ghandi Good morning guys, I was just reading and it dawned on me how many people are just afraid of change. I know of 4 people that have great skills but have a fear of using them to their advantage. Most people...

Good Morning Frugalistas!!!! Questions.
Hey guys, Another week another valentines day has come and gone again. How many of you felt the need to buy your significant other a gift yesterday. I personally knew I did not N-E-E-D to buy anything. When it comes to holidays and birthdays and family gatherings some of us just feel guilty for some reason that we do not buy. So we spend even when we shouldn’t cough up the money. ...

financial-reader asked: Excellent post on Tax Refunds. Every year, I hear the people around me talking about their refund and what they are going to do with it, I think this says a lot about the financial habits of American's in general. We are always passively waiting to get money in a big lump, instead of saving it and being thoughtful about it throughout the year. We have this mindset that it is the big chunks of...

Your tax refund. . . . . . . .
Good Morning Everyone, I was discussing taxes with someone who was getting a 1,600.00 refund and they told me the silliest phrase ever. “I would rather get it in one whole chunk than to get it a little at a time. I can do more that way” Then I asked “Like what for example?” “Pay off my furniture.” At that moment I knew I was wasting my breath talking to...

FPU recap on lesson 1
I just have to say I was really glad I decided to coordinate this class.  It was a great feeling seeing everyone get the “OH! I get it!” look in their faces when the discussion of saving was the topic.    I look forward to seeing their progress the following 12 weeks. I wonder what kinda props I should prepare for lesson 2? I have some idea but if you want to propose anything I would...
